DINOS FOOTBALL CAMP TEAM BARBECUE WITH NORTH CARIBOO AIR

For the third time in four years the University of Calgary Dinos football team had their team barbecue Saturday afternoon at McMahon Stadium with players, coaches and support staff. The event took place after the controlled scrimmage.

As always, the replica plane was present drawing interest from not only the players, coaches, and support staff but the general public who saw the plane in the west parking lot of McMahon Stadium.

The custom-built barbecue plane is the property of North Cariboo Air whom the Dinos will be chartering during the 2021 season. 2021 marks the third season the Dinos have used North Cariboo Air to charter which began in 2018 and continued in 2019.

“We appreciate the business of getting the team back and forth safely to their destination in a time efficient manner,” states Cal Anderson, Business Development Specialist with North Cariboo Air.

The Dinos will once again use an AVRO RJ100 as their mode of transportation when they travel to their destinations on game day to the Universities of Regina and Saskatchewan.

“The players miss less class time and are home earlier from their destination,” Anderson stated whose firm hosted the barbecue with product from Spolumbo’s Deli as well as support from the Dinos 5th Quarter.

Head Coach Wayne Harris is pleased the team will be chartering again for a portion of their schedule in the 2021 season. “It is great to have North Cariboo Air involved. They take very good care of us. Their entire staff are great to deal with, they are very approachable, extremely efficient and the student-athletes miss less class time,” Harris stated.

Thanks to team business manager Rob Hozjan who worked with the North Cariboo Air, Spolumbo’s and the Dinos 5th Quarter for making the barbecue a success as well as the staff of North Cariboo Air who hosted the event.
